Title: Updating mods for SMF 1.1.3 easily
Post by: Skhilled on June 29, 2007, 04:25:26 AM
When you update smf you usually cannot uninstall most of your mods. I've found a way to do this without uninstalling the smf update first.

Get updated mods or edit the package-info.xml of the mod to work with smf 1.1.3. Upload it to your Packages folder. Refresh your browser.  ;)

Depending on the type of ftp program you use you may not be able to overwrite files on the server. In this case, delete the old file in Packages first then upload the new.

Great way to do this.I find that sometimes the overwrite will work and sometimes not.I just use the 2nd option more. ;D

I usually don't have problems overwriting on my server but know of others who have. Try a different ftp or use cpanel and see if that makes a difference.

I'm setting up ftp access for everyone right now.
