The disclosure of a back door allowing bad guys to repeatedly guess Gmail passwords should remind us all to protect our accounts with long and strong character strings.

One utility that I've found to be useful is Access Manager 2... their free version works very well indeed, giving you the ability to generate and store very secure passwords and have a different one for each site that you visit.
That way you don't have to use the same password over and over again and you don't have to try and remember all those secure ones.
