Hi filipe and welcome to Docskillz! ;D I know you from Logo Off and Pixelmansion. I am admin at both forums. ;)

To upgrade your forum to SMF 2.0.4 you will need to know a few things.

BEFORE UPGRADING:

1.  Any themes you have currently installed may not work with SMF 2.0.4 and you will need to be upgraded to work specifically with that version. You will need to search for upgrades for those themes or get new themes for SMF 2.0.4.

2.  Any mods you have currently installed may not work with SMF 2.0.4 and you will need to be upgraded to work specifically with that version. You will need to search for upgrades for those mods or get new themes for SMF 2.0.4.

WHEN YOU ARE READY TO UPGRADE:

1.  YOU MUST BACKUP YOUR FORUM AND YOUR DATABASE FILES FIRST!!!

2.  You will need to switch the the default SMF theme (Curves) and then uninstall your mods and themes and delete them...AFTER you have found replacements for them.

3.  Download the SMF 2.0.4 large upgrade package from here:

http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-4_upgrade.zip

4.  Extract it to a folder on your hard drive and then upload all of those files to your SMF forum folder on your hosting's server.

5.  Run the file "Upgrade.php" in your browser. This should be something like this:

http://www.your_forum.com/upgrade.php - "www.your_forum.com" is where your forum is actually located. This should be the same place that you have uploaded the files.

6.  Follow the prompts and all should be well. If it is ok then install themes first BEFORE installing any mods. Make sure each theme works before installingthe next. Remember to check your error logs for any problems and fix them before installing the next one.

7.  Install your mods. Install one at a time and make sure each one works with each theme BEFORE installing the next mod. Remember to check your error logs for any problems and fix them before installing the next one.

Add any custoom files such as logos, etc. and then you wil lbe all set. :)
