Title: Firefox Does Not Clear The Cache
Post by: Skhilled on April 09, 2017, 07:13:19 AM
I've found this info out today from Underdog:

QuoteThe devs for Firefox do not have their browser clearing the cache when the history is cleared.
This causes the browser to be slow when the cache is large & also it causes an issue when testing apps/mods that have recent changes to html & js.
I noticed this issue when testing recent changes I did to some of the arcade games which were behaving as if I made no changes yet looking at the files via FTP I was sure that changes were applied.
Clearing the history was having absolutely no effect but the clear cache addon solved the problem.

Anyhow, I suggest anyone that likes to use Firefox to install & use this add-on for it:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/empty-cache-button/ (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/empty-cache-button/)

Yes, it will clear the cache. As far as I know, they haven't provided an update yet. And I've been having problems with it ever since the https update. I'm considering switching to Chrome.

I'm re-posting this here as I think it's worth knowing about the ability to downgrade your current version if you want to.

QuoteI don't like the FF V52 either this new 'Insecure password warning in Firefox' is annoying as sometimes it will not allow you to log in at all. I have a couple of old versions V42 and V49 stored on my NAS drive and if push comes to shove I will delete V52 and install one of those and then opt out of updates.

If you want a particular old version of Firefox then go to
Quotehttp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

Once there click on the version you want and then select the file from either 32 or 64 bit, then you be presented with your language version, select that then another page will open with your file to download.
